We study mechanisms of hyperexcitability in the brain. Our lab utilizes approaches such as ex vivo and in vivo electrophysiology, 2-photon calcium imaging, closed-loop optogenetics and EEG recording in mice to understand neuronal function and how it goes awry in disorders such as epilepsy.
